Insurance agreed to a roof replacement for this home but didn’t include the sunroom. Additional inspection showed that the sunroom also needed a replacement roof.

00:01 Speaker 1: Hey, how are you? It’s Nick Bonadies here with Semper Fi Exteriors. So, let me show you what I’m finding on this roof. So, let me show you this first. Over here, the insurance company approved the whole main roof. The problem is they didn’t approve the sunroom. By the way, if we zoom in over there, we just completed that roof the other day and we’re getting ready to do… Well, here. I’ll flip this thing around. We’re getting ready to do all their siding. So, the insurance company approved brand new roof, all new siding, all new gutters, all new trim, light fixtures. I mean, a whole bunch of cool stuff. But on this home, what we’re doing is we’re actually working on the roof.
00:32 S1: So, they approved this to be replaced, which we haven’t gotten replaced yet, because we’re still going back and forth with the insurance company, but check this out. The sun room, they said there’s no damage. I don’t know about you. It looks like there’s a little bit of damage there. All those shingles are wind-damaged shingles. So, check it out. Sometimes we have to come up and… Sometimes we have to come up and prop shingles up to show the insurance company… Or do certain things to show the insurance company that there is damage. We have to document everything and all that good stuff.
01:00 S1: Anyways, I wanted to show you what we’re finding here. This homeowner will end up with a whole new roof. The cool thing is, the room that we’re standing on is actually not structurally sound to actually support the roof. I know I’m up on it now, but to actually install the roof. So, what’s gonna happen is the insurance company at the end of the day, ideally, is gonna pay to redo the whole room down below. They had some damage down below with structural stuff and things like that, so we’re working through that with the insurance company. So, it should be a brand new roof and a whole new sunroom underneath it. Have a great day.
